Qantas has announced plans to increase the number of flights from Sydney to Johannesburg.

Qantas has announced plans to increase the number of flights from Sydney to Johannesburg.Alan Joyce, Qantas chief executive office, confirmed the carrier will now offer an additional flight to meet the growing demand from travellers.

“South Africa is a key market for Qantas, particularly with our business travellers, and we are pleased that we can now offer customers a daily service between Sydney and Johannesburg,” he said.

Mr Joyce added the new flight will make use of a four class Boeing 747-400 and will increase capacity by 350 seats per week.

Qantas is the only carrier to offer direct flights to Johannesburg from Sydney and also has dailyflights to Perth from South Africa.

To celebrate the introduction of the new flight, Qantas is offering reductions on return fares for trips up to November 30th.

The airline is the world’s second oldest, employs around 35,000 people and flies to 173 destinations in 42 countries.
