Qantas has announced that it will be increasing the capacity on flights from Perth for the coming weeks.
A rise in the number of people taking flights to Perth in the coming weeks could be down to Qantas announcing an increase in capacity on journeys from the city.
The airline has announced that several cities in Western Australia will benefit from seeing an increase in the number of seats available from Perth.
Qantas group executive for commercial Rob Gurney explained that the step has been taken to meet the rising demand from the people in these areas.
“From today we will be increasing capacity from Perth to Karratha, Newman, Paraburdoo, Port Hedland and Broome. The changes will see around nine additional return services per week,” Mr Gurney said.
When taken over a year, the changes will be the equivalent of 180,000 seats being added to the market.
It is the second time this month that Qantas has announced changes to the services which are being operated from the city, which could open up even more choice for people taking flights to Perth who intend to travel internally.
