Holidaymakers will soon be able to enjoy brilliant golfing action in Goa.
Golf fans may have noticed that last month’s British Open saw a delightful major debut by Indian Anirban Lahrir.
His rise to prominence has been emblematic of his country’s current love affair with the sport.
All over India, people are picking up their clubs and heading to the fairways, but soon they will be able to enjoy PGA standard action in India.
Goa is already one of the most popular holiday destinations in the whole of the subcontinent and soon it could be as appealing to golfers as it is to culture vultures or sun worshippers.
Authorities in the state have given the go-ahead to the creation of a new 18-holer at Terkhol village, reports IBN Live.
This would mean that not only will holidaymakers be able to swap the sands of the bunkers for those on the beach at the end of their round, but world-class sporting talent such as Rory McIlroy and Tiger woods could soon be coming to India.
