Cape Town has been given recognition for its convention facilities.
People taking cheap flights to Cape Town in order to attend a convention in the city could be interested to know the city’s facilities have been ranked among the world’s best.
The Cape Town and Western Cape Convention Bureau has been given a hallmark of excellence in an external audit carried out in the BestCities annual assessment.
Cape Town is a registered member of BestCities, along with locations including Dubai, Edinburgh and Copenhagen.
Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, Cape Town and Western Cape Convention Bureau manager and member of the BestCities board, said: “The BestCities Global Alliance has a stringent audit process for its members and it is therefore a huge achievement to be a part of such a group.”
Visitors taking cheap flights to Cape Town in October could find themselves in the middle of the city’s Diwali celebrations, which will include a range of cultural treats such as Bhangra music, fireworks and dancing demonstrations at Ratanga Junction.
