There is plenty for tourists to enjoy in Cape Town.
The popularity of Cape Town as a burgeoning holiday destination was confirmed recently when a Twitter campaign instigated by tourism chiefs in the South African city hit 500,000 impressions in just 24 hours.
During the scheme, tourists and locals alike discussed all sorts of attractions that are available to anyone who wants to visit Cape Town.
Mariette du Toit-Helmbold, chief executive officer of Cape Town Tourism, said: “The ongoing #LoveCapeTown Twitter campaign undeniably proves that you need more than just a week when visiting the Mother City.”
Everyone who arrives on the Cape will be immediately be struck by the majesty of Table Mountain and the Lions Head.
Indeed, the geological features may be the most famous attraction in Cape Town, but Robben Island – the former colonial prison and now World Heritage site – is also a must-see.
The city is also a good base for those interested in wine tours and safari expeditions.
