India’s premier full service ailrine, Jet Airways and South African Airways have extended their code-share agreement on flights offering convenient options to flyers looking for tickets for connections to several cities in India and South Africa.
India’s leading private carrier, Jet Airways (JAI) and South African Airways (SAA) have announced their code-share agreement. The two airlines have come out with their code-share agreement to offer flights to many more destinations within the network of both the airlines. Tickets went on sale on 16 April 2013 with travel effective from 18 April 2013, reveals various online sources.
Under the arrangement, SAA will place codes on Jet’s flights between Mumbai and Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram. Similarly, Jet will place codes on SAA’s flights between Mumbai and Johannesburg and beyond to Cape Town and Durban.
Besides, the code-share will spell as reciprocal frequent-flyer program benefits to the tickets holders booking flights with one of the two airlines to various destinations in India and South Africa. SAA’s loyalty programme, Voyager members will be able to earn miles when travelling with Jet using SAA-issued tickets. Likewise, members of Jet Privilege programme will also be able to earn and redeem JPMiles when travelling with SAA using Jet-issued tickets.
Industry experts believe that the code sharing on the India Flights – South Africa flights is underpinned by the ever increasing number of passengers who search for cheap deals for tickets to travel on the popular route. And the agreement will effectively enhance flight choices for customers, whether originating in India or Africa.
