Air India and Jet Airways passengers travelling to Delhi’ Indira Gandhi International Airport will have the option to check-in at Delhi Metro’s Shivaji Stadium and New Delhi stations. The facility will be available to passengers of the two Indian airlines, flying both on domestic and international routes. Passengers can check-in as early as 12 hours prior to the departure of their flights. The counter will be closed two-hours before the scheduled time of departure. 

Also, the state-run carrier, Air India would be inaugurating its Flight Information cum Ticketing Counter cum Excess Baggage issuance Counter at DMRC operated Airport Express Metro Stations, i.e. New Delhi & Shivaji Stadium Stations. This means that along with the check-in, travellers would be able to get flight information, buy air tickets, and get issuance for excess baggage at the Metro stations.

Air India passengers will get the boarding passes from this counter and the checked-in baggage will be transferred to the Terminal 3 of Delhi’ Indira Gandhi International Airport. Passengers can pay for excess baggage and avail the facility of advance seat booking as well. 

“We are pleased to extend the facility of city check-in on both the domestic and international flights operated by Air India. Earlier, city check-in was available only for domestic sector flights and on a few Gulf countries,” Ashwani Lohani, Air India Chairman and Managing Director, was quoted as saying in a company statement.
