Emirates celebrating 25 years at Gatwick
Dubai-based airline Emirates is celebrating 25 years of flights from Gatwick with the first ever Airbus A380 service from the airport.
On July 6th, the world’s largest passenger jet aircraft, which can carry over 500 passengers, will make its maiden voyage from the Crawley site – marking the first of daily A380 flights Emirates will then be operating to Dubai.
Top class features onboard the Emirates A380 include shower spas in first class and an in-flight entertainment system throughout the Airbus with over 1300 channels on demand.
“Emirates has changed the face of UK air travel since we took off from Gatwick 25 years ago,” said Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ senior vice-president of commercial operations for Europe and Russian Federation.
“Since that time, millions of travellers have flown with us from our six UK departure points to Dubai and beyond.”
Emirates currently offers 16 daily flights from six UK airports to Dubai.
