The Queen is to make a visit to Melbourne during a forthcoming trip to Australia.
People taking flights to Melbourne in October could find that there is a royal visitor in the city as the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are paying a visit to the city.
Her Royal Highness is paying a ten-day trip to Australia, arriving in Canberra on October 19th 2011 before travelling on to Brisbane on October 24th.
The royal couple will then arrive in Melbourne on October 26th, before spending time in Perth, finally departing the country on October 29th.
It will be the 16th time that the couple have travelled to Australia, the first visit taking place in 1954 and the most recent in 2006.
This will be the second royal visit to Australia this year, as Prince William spent time in Queensland before his marriage to Kate Middleton.
People heading on flights to Melbourne and other areas of Australia were recently informed by Brooke Schoenman, travel writer for online guide WhyGo Australia, that there are a wealth of activities for families to enjoy in the country.
