Qantas has announced it is putting on more flights to transport fans of the National Rugby League to Sydney from New Zealand.
Fans of the National Rugby League (NRL) taking flights to Sydney for the grand final could find there are a lot of fans there from New Zealand as Qantas is putting on extra trips.
The airline has announced it will be adding extra journeys and increasing its capacity in order to meet the demands of fans of the New Zealand Warriors who are taking on the Manly Sea Eagles on Sunday October 2nd 2011.
There will be an extra flight leaving Auckland on October 1st to Sydney and an extra trip on October 3rd back to New Zealand.
Qantas acting regional general manager for New Zealand and the Pacific Islands Shirley Field said: “Due to the size of demand, we are excited to provide additional seats to cater for fans. We’re constantly monitoring demand and will assess if further capacity is required.”
For those on flights to Sydney who are more interested in art than sport the current lace exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum could be appealing to them.
