Qantas ‘among most sustainable airlines’

Qantas has been named as one of the most sustainable airlines in the world.

People who are taking cheap flights to Melbourne with Qantas could be interested to know that the airline has been named as one of the most sustainable in the world.

A study of carriers performed by Dow Jones found that it is only one of two airlines ranked on the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index, with Air France – KLM also picking up one of the coveted spots.

Qantas’ group executive for government and corporate affairs Olivia Wirth explained that the results come from the airline’s commitment to show good corporate citizenship.

“Recognition by Dow Jones confirms that we are meeting our responsibilities to our customers, employees, the community, the environment and our shareholders,” Ms Wirth said.

However, those looking for cheap flights to Melbourne may not only be booking travel with Qantas, as Etihad Airways has announced that it is expanding its workforce in the city as well as other global locations.
