Brits have voted Australia as one of the most inspiring holiday destinations.
Anyone who is looking for inspiration about where to jet off to later this year may want to consider booking flights to Australia after it was selected as one of the most inspiring holiday destinations by British travellers.
Research conducted by Ambi Pur found that Australia was the third most-inspiring travel location, losing out to Italy – which topped the list – and America.
The study revealed that 57 per cent of tourists feel that the landscape of a country is its most inspiring feature, while sight and smell are the senses most likely to evoke strong memories of a trip.
It also found that 18 per cent of respondents decided to emigrate following a foreign holiday, while 37 per cent took the less-drastic step of redecorating their home.
Australia has a number of iconic landmarks that people travelling to the country will no doubt want to see.
These include Uluru, situated in the heart of the outback, the Blue Mountains – which are just outside Sydney – and the Great Barrier Reef on the north-eastern coastline.
