Anyone who has booked flights to Australia may want to consider taking a cruise to explore some of the country’s cities
People who book flights to Australia usually want to travel around during their time in the country.
Due to its vast size, it can be incredibly difficult to visit all the best places without spending considerable amounts of time travelling.
According to Carolyn Spencer Brown, editor in chief at Cruise Critic, taking a cruise around some of Australia’s ports is becoming an increasingly popular option among tourists.
“Australia is one of those places that is ideally set up for cruising,” she explained.
Ms Spencer Brown added: “A voyage around the country is a great way to see really disparate destinations.”
She went on to say that the country offers a host of activities and locations to suit any traveller’s needs – from the Great Barrier Reef for water sports such as sailing and diving, to places like Melbourne and Sydney which are great for city breaks.
Figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics show that the country is becoming increasingly popular with foreign travellers.
In 2009, it recorded 12.4 million overseas arrivals, with short-term visitors making up just under half of this figure (5.6 million).
