Holidays in Thailand offer lovers of luxury the chance to indulge themselves alongside some of the world’s biggest stars.
Travellers looking for more than a simple beach-side hut on their holidays to Thailand could follow the lead of some of the world’s biggest stars and check in to the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi.
Opened in 2006 after six years of construction, the five-star hotel – which is located close to Chang Mai – has become a firm favourite with athletes looking to sooth their limbs and be completely pampered.
According to the Daily Mail’s guide to the resort, both Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams, as well as the violinist Vanessa Mae and Prince Albert of Monaco have all opted to stay at the Dhara Dvehi while enjoying holidays to Thailand.
And it’s not hard to see why, with the hotel comprising 64 separate luxury villas boasting marble terraces modelled on the designs that were popular in the days of the British Raj.
As well as the modern gadgetry within the villas themselves, the resort also boasts an infinity pool overlooking paddy fields as well as a luxury spa, modelled on a Burmese temple and home to full-time health experts and yoga teachers.
Meanwhile, earlier in the month, TV presenter Jayne Middlemiss also told the Daily Mail that her stay at the Anantara Si Kao, a short distance from the Chao Mai National Park which is popular with nature-lovers, was her idea of a “perfect” break.
