TAT encouraging tourists to try cooking and other activities
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Thai Airways International want to see travellers to the top Asian destination getting more creative with their latest campaign.
Discover the Other You aims to promote a whole host of traditional Thai crafts and disciplines to tourists to make their stay a more “life-enriching” one.
So rather than just lying back on one of the country’s gorgeous beaches, they want to see more people having a crack at everything from the combat sport Muay Thai to more sedate pastimes such as cookery and Thai massage.
Commenting on the campaign, the TAT said: “Thailand, the land of smiles, is rich in culture and a people who nurture age-old traditions from one generation to another.
“As a traveller, you can partake in the knowledge of local masters, enriching your life as you learn of experiential activities, arts and crafts.”
Thailand’s tourist-friendly approach has seen it move up to 11th on the UN World Tourism Organization’s list of the world’s top destinations.
