New hotels will be built and existing ones renovated in Gujarat.
The Gujarat Tourism Corporation is hoping to tempt more people to book flights to Ahmedabad and beyond with the launch of its new tourism push.
India is emerging as one of the most popular destinations in the world for a luxury holiday and officials in Gujarat are hoping to ensure they showcase what is on offer in the state to the best of their abilities.
The focus of these latest investments will be upgrading existing 15 hotels to three-star status, while newer ones are built.
“While many new private hotels have announced their projects in Ahmedabad, there will be a gestation period before they begin operation,” a senior official of Gujarat Tourism Corporation told the Times of India.
Facilities such as air-conditioned rooms, banquet and conference halls, mini club houses, reception lounges and restaurants will all be added to the accommodation owned by the Corporation.
New hotels will be opened next year.
