Anyone looking for a budget break abroad this year may want to consider booking flights to Thailand as the country offers good value, it has been claimed.
People who are travelling on a budget this year will no doubt be looking out for the destinations tipped to offer value for money.
One travel expert has stated that Thailand is still among the list of countries where tourists can make their pounds go further during a holiday.
Sharron Livingston, editor at thetravelmagazine.net, commented that Thailand “still offers good value” for visitors.
Holidaymakers should not be afraid to barter either when it comes to accommodation costs, Ms Livingston advised.
“Every traveller wants to eke out as much luxury as their budget will allow and these days, hotels are willing to negotiate,” she said.
Research released by Hayes & Jarvis backs up Ms Livingston’s assertion. The organisation found that many five-star resorts around the world are “discounting quite significantly”, which is allowing tourists to make “tremendous savings” on luxury breaks.
The report also revealed that holiday prices for many long-haul destinations have fallen compared with one year ago and discovered that travellers can make savings of between 15 and 40 per cent on many one and two-week flight-inclusive packages.
