Booking flights to Thailand could leave holidaymakers better off because living costs in the country are so cheap, it has been advised.
Anyone who wants a long-haul holiday but does not want to shell out a large amount of money for the privilege should consider booking flights to Thailand, one tourism expert has advised.
The south-east Asian nation is still very good value for money for Brits travelling abroad, ABTA – The Travel Association spokesperson Frances Tuke commented.
She named Thailand among the “top destinations” which are “much cheaper when it comes to spending over there”.
Other countries to feature in the list included Egypt, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
Her comments come as research published by Kuoni put Thailand near the top of the holiday wish list for many British travellers.
According to the organisation, the country is set to be the second most popular long-haul destination this year and is a particular favourite among those travelling alone.
Meanwhile, Thailand was ranked third by families planning long-haul trips, behind the USA and the Maldives.
