People considering buying a second home overseas could find South Africa is proving an attractive option.
People who are considering buying a home overseas could be planning to book flights to South Africa as the country is currently offering good deals on property.
Tom Whale, account manager at Rightmove Overseas, explained that his company will see about 10,000 searches every month for properties in the country.
He said that the most popular area tends to be the Western Cape, as it is the location of cities such as Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Hout Bay.
“While house prices haven’t fallen as much [as some countries], the South African rand is at its lowest point since late 2009, meaning that now is a great time to buy a property in South Africa,” Mr Whale added.
Some people could be planning to book flights to South Africa after seeing the experiences of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall during their recent trip to the nation ahead of the Durban Climate Summit.
