A range of exciting events will be taking place around the streets of Goa to celebrate Diwali.
Visitors taking flights to Goa could get involved in the fun of the forthcoming Diwali festival by taking to the streets.
The region is set to celebrate the festival by crafting huge effigies of the demon Narakasur and setting them on every street of Goa, IBN Live reported.
These figures will then be set alight as the prelude to the festival and commemorate how Lord Krishna defeated the demon.
Visitors will also be able to see several of the local towns get into the spirit of the event by seeing which can create the scariest or ugliest rendering of the creature.
“Larger the better, you can say crueller the better or uglier the better,” Eknath Naik, a member of a group in Ponda, told the news provider.
Last month, Maverick Fernandes, secretary of the Centre for Social Justice and Peace, urged people taking flights to Goa to get out and experience its culture.
