People who want to escape the last of the cold weather should consider booking flights to Egypt, one newspaper has advised.
Anyone who wants to get a head start on their summer tan and jet off to warmer climes as the last of cold weather hopefully disappears may want to think about booking flights to Egypt.
In a list of the 30 best places to visit over the coming few months, journalists at the Times picked Luxor and the Nile as two top destinations.
According to the publication, with temperatures hitting a hot 28 to 35 degrees C, it is a great place to get in the mood for summer.
Recommendations for ways to spend a break included a Nile cruise along the river’s southern stretch and into Lake Nasser, where you will find the impressive ruins of Abu Simbel.
TV presenter John Craven recently took a boat trip around this part of Egypt and described it as “seven days’ total relaxation in unqualified luxury”.
Writing for the Daily Mail, he said that approaching Abu Simbel across the lake has the added advantage of allowing tourists to approach the monument from the front, rather than arriving behind the mountain if you travel there by bus or plane.
