Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific will start offering non-stop flights to Manchester from 8 December 2014. It will be the only carrier to fly non-stop from Manchester to Hong Kong. The 4-times-a-week service will be operated via Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Soon, Cathay Pacific Airways will be offering flight services from Manchester, UK to Hong Kong. Early this year, the airline made the announcement that it will start running non-stop flights on the Manchester-Hong Kong route from 8 December 2014. Cathay Pacific will be the only airline to do so. It will be a four times a week service.
Located in north-west England, Manchester is one of the key aviation hubs in the country. The city is also recognised as a prominent business hub and is well known for its culture, industrial heritage and football clubs. In terms of passenger traffic, the Manchester International Airport is among the busiest in the United Kingdom and experts believe the airport has potential for much higher growth.
Flights will take off from Hong Kong to Manchester every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flight departures from Manchester are on these same days.
The flights will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The plane will feature the carrier’s new cabin configuration, including the popular Business Class, Premium Economy Class and the new Economy Class seats. Travellers who book air tickets for flying on the new route are likely to have a relaxed time aboard the flights between Hong Kong and Manchester. Moreover, with Cathay Pacific’s further flight connections to more 70 destinations across China, Asia and Australasia, European passengers are promised a seamless journey.
“We have a deep commitment to the UK market and currently operate five flights a day to London Heathrow. Business ties between the UK and Hong Kong are very strong and we have been seeing an ever-increasing demand for air travel to and from the Asia Pacific region for both business and leisure traffic,” Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Ivan Chu was quoted.
“By providing yet more flights to the UK, and the only non-stop direct service between Hong Kong and Manchester, Cathay Pacific will offer passengers even more choice and flexibility and, at the same time, continue to boost Hong Kong’s standing as an international aviation hub,” he added.
The schedule of the new flights is as follows:
