A UK radio host is to head to Australia to broadcast his show at the invitation of the South Australian Tourism Commission.

A UK radio DJ may soon be boarding flights to Adelaide in order to broadcast his show, following the invitation of the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC).

Smooth Radio presenter Simon Bates will be broadcasting live from the country for five days from September 12th 2011, which will see him presenting from different locations each day of the trip.

Some of the locations which he will take in include Kangaroo Island, Flinders Range, as well as Adelaide.

He will also have the experiences of blending his own wine in Barossa Valley and sampling the food and drink that is on offer in the country.

Janice Kurrle, UK marketing manager for SATC, said: “We believe South Australia offers visitors memorable landscapes, unforgettable wildlife experiences, world class food and wine and most importantly, genuine, heartfelt hospitality.”

Some people could be tempted to get on flights to Adelaide and other Australian cities following the comments of Rodney Harrex, UK and Northern Europe general manager at Tourism Australia, who said it is great for a year abroad.
