Heading out to attend a horse race in the outback has been noted as a must-see for people in Australia.
People heading out on cheap flights to Australia have been advised that seeing a horse race when they venture into the outback could be an unforgettable experience.
Glynn Jacobs, project manager at Outback NSW Tourism, said that those who head out into the country should take in one of the races, as many of the towns have built up big events around them.
“Best known of these are the Louth Races held in Louth in August and the St Patrick’s Day races held in Broken Hill during March,” Ms Jacobs said.
She added that another great event for people who are in the country over the Easter weekend is the Lightening Ridge festival, which offers arts and crafts and a race along a rare straight racetrack.
Those planning to travel around after taking cheap flights to Australia were recently advised by Tony Braxton-Smith, chief executive of Great Southern Rail, to take the train between locations as it is the best way to see the outback first hand.
