People booking cheap flights to Egypt may be interested to hear one journalist’s recommendations of the top things to do on a trip to the Red Sea Riviera.

Anyone who has booked cheap flights to Egypt but is undecided about how to spend their days in the sun may be interested in the suggestions made by one travel journalist.

Writing in the Daily Mail, Gareth Huw Davies picked out the best six activities to take part in during a trip to Sharm el Sheikh.

Top of his list is kite surfing, which although a relatively new attraction, has become popular among visitors to the resort.

Adventurous travellers should also consider spending some time under the water, where spectacular coral reefs and colourful marine life could keep holidaymakers happy for hours.

Mr Davies also recommended taking a trip to see the sunrise from Mount Sinai. Despite the early wakeup call, he urged people to make the journey, which he described as “a surprisingly moving experience”.

Other worthwhile options to escape from the seaside resort for a day include visiting the pyramids in Cairo and adding a Nile cruise on to the itinerary, Mr Davies noted.

Holidaymakers travelling to Egypt could be pleased to learn that the exchange rate between the pound and the Egyptian pound has improved recently, offering tourists up to 15 per cent more for their money, the Post Office revealed this week.
