Value for money is the top priority for travellers, according to a travel review site.
Travel review sites could be useful for people looking for cheap flights to Bangkok or holidays in Australia.
Holidaymakers are increasingly turning to review sites to ensure they get the best deals.
Research released last month from Thomson and First Choice found that 80 per cent of people mostly trusted the reviews they came across.
Amelie Hurst, spokesperson for TripAdvisor, noted that business travellers are using review sites more frequently than they used to, but that checking reviews was important for all travellers.
She said: “Regardless of whether someone is travelling for business or leisure, travel is about time and money – you cannot afford for it to go wrong.”
A survey by market research agency BDRC found that although review sites were helpful to travellers, personal recommendations were seen as the most credible source of information while advice provided by travel agents was considered to be ‘very reliable’.
