Queenstown has picked up three awards at the New Zealand Travel Industry Awards.
Queenstown is one of the premier outdoors and adventure tourism destinations on earth.
People travel from all over the globe to get to New Zealand’s South Island and breathe the clean mountain air while preparing to do a bungee jump or begin an all terrain race.
However, the city’s success cannot be attributed to Mother Nature alone, as Queenstown businesses have won three prizes at the inaugural New Zealand Travel Industry Awards, which were held in Auckland.
Destination Queenstown won Best Tourism Office – National, while the nation’s oldest guiding company, Guided Nature Walks picked up Best Tour Operator in the Domestic category. The night was completed with the Dairy Private Luxury Hotel’s runner-up prize in the Best Hotel/Resort group.
Graham Budd, chief executive officer of Destination Queenstown, said he and his team were delighted with the recognition.
“It’s a real honour to be recognised by those we work within the tourism industry and it’s also great to see two of our operators acknowledged for the fantastic work they do,” he added.
