Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will be playing at next year’s Abu Dhabi Golf Championship.

The world’s top two players have been confirmed for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championships in the new year.

Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will be sorting out flights to Abu Dhabi for the event, which takes place from January 17th to 20th.

The duo were the main attraction at this year’s tournament, as they were paired together for the entire 54 holes and their presence at the next competition will only confirm its reputation as one of the sport’s premier championships.

“Rory and Tiger are true giants of the game and represent only our opening salvo – we are actively working to bring another world-class field to Abu Dhabi and further player announcements will be made,” said Faisal Al Sheikh, event manager at organiser Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.

McIlroy believes it is his time to win at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club and said he is determined to stay on a winning streak and keep his number one ranking.
