Take in the sights of the Monkey Buffet Festival on holiday in Thailand.

Travellers looking for something different to keep them entertained on a break this year may wish to take a holiday in Thailand during November.

Lopburi in Thailand will become the scene for the Monkey Buffet Festival in the autumn, which has been recommended to travellers as an alternative festival by Skyscanner.

The event sees some 600 monkeys come to dine each year, where they feed at a table of 3,000 kilograms of fruit and vegetables.

According to the website, the festival is held to thank the monkeys for attracting tourists to the region.

The festival takes place in front of the Pra Prang Sam Yot temple, located approximately 94 miles north of Bangkok.

From November 1st to 2nd, those taking a holiday in Thailand may wish to see the boat procession that takes place on the Chao Phraya River.

The illuminated boats can be seen from the KrungThep or Krung Thon bridges in the Thai capital.
