During August and September, Thailand will play host to several different sporting events in the capital.
Travellers taking a holiday in Bangkok during August may wish to experience some local culture during their travels.
From August 1st to 10th, Thailand’s capital and the Suphan Buri province will see some 2,500 competitors arrive to compete in the Asian Martial Arts Games.
This is the inaugural year of the event which hopes to see people come from all over the world to take part.
Some of the events include competitions in kickboxing, kung fu and karatedo at sporting venues across the city, WhatsOnWhen revealed.
Those taking a holiday in Thailand during September may wish to take in the sights of the International Swan Boat Races.
Some 20 different teams will race their elaborately-designed boats down the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.
One of the races consists of 96-foot boats, which weigh some 5,000 pounds, being paddled by 50 men in each.
This is known as the Traditional Race.
