Thailand has received 61 awards at a recent travel ceremony.
Luxury travellers have long held a certain affinity with the cosmopolitan nature of Thailand, as it has the perfect mixture of climate, culture and entertainment.
The two most popular destinations have always been the capital city of Bangkok – one of the most vibrant places on Earth – and Phuket, which is one of the most beautiful.
It is no surprise then that both of these places have been honoured in a poll, which highlighted the best that the Asian tourism scene has to offer.
Phuket was deemed to be the second best holiday destination on the continent, while Bangkok was named as the fifth in the Best in Travel poll run by Smart Travel Asia.
The capital was also ranked as the fourth best city for business travellers.
In total, Thai destinations and products racked up 61 awards, prompting tourism chief Suraphon Svetasreni to state that he was proud the country’s effort receives such global recognition.
