A new hotel in Johannesburg has performed well, according to the Rezidor Hotel Group.
The Radison Blu Gautrain Hotel Sandton Johannesburg is located in the centre of the city’s financial district and could appeal to those taking flights to South Africa. Guests could also be attracted by its location opposite the Gautrain Rail Station, which offers connections to Soweto, Johannesburg city centre and Tambo Airport.
Rezidor also opened new flagship properties in Milan, Latvia, Estonia and Moscow in 2010.
“Throughout the global downturn we have kept our growth pace and momentum. Moreover, we have grown in a balanced and profitable way and fully aligned with our asset-light business model,” said Puneet Chhatwal, senior vice-president and chief development officer of Rezidor.
He added that the company is already developing new opportunities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to provide an additional 20,000 rooms over the next three years.
