With Love From Taj celebrates Agra’s unique culture.
People holidaying in Delhi will no doubt be tempted to take the trip to Agra to see the majesty of the Taj Mahal.
The mausoleum built in 1631 by Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtz Mahal is one of the most iconic images of Indian and one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
However, it is not just the beauty of the symmetrical architecture and the oasis of calm the building exudes that provide lasting memories.
The site plays muse to all sorts of creative talent and has inspired a unique craft in and around Agra.
Nearby the monument tourists can find zardozi workings and other local traditions which have been highlighted by the With Love From Taj collection, reports India Today.
Exhibits include photographs, artesian creations and relics as well as a special display of clothing from six of India’s best designers.
Mavericks such as Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani and Shane Peacock created items inspired by the Taj for the show.
