Hyderabad will celebrate World Tourism Week with a heritage marathon
India has a burgeoning reputation as the holiday destination for luxury travellers who are looking to mix a great climate with unique cultural experiences.
One city that has more than its fair share of spectacular sites is Hyderabad and an upcoming event provides the perfect opportunity to showcase them all.
To coincide with World Tourism Week, the city will host the Hyperabad Heritage Marathon, reports the Times of India.
Despite the distance being misleading as there is a half marathon option, the run will certainly deliver on the heritage front as it starts at the Chowmahalla Palace and ends at the Qutub Shahi Tombs.
During the race, the athletes will also run past sights of great historical and cultural importance such as Charminar, Mecca Masjid, HC, Osmania Hospital, Mozamjahi Market, Public Gardens, AP Legislative Assembly, Ravindra Bharathi, Hussainsagar, Secretariat, Taramati Baradari and Golconda Fort.
Certainly enough to live up to the title of a heritage marathon.
