Kevin Pietersen has returned to the England line-up in Mumbai.
Kevin Pietersen looks to have completed his reintegration into the England side as he padded up against an Indian A XI today (October 30th) for a warm-up match in Mumbai.
The batsman was left out of the side for the last match of the summer after a text messaging scandal overshadowed England’s series against South Africa in which they lost their status as the best Test team in the world.
After missing the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka, Pietersen is now back in the line-up and expected to bat at four.
England head coach Andy Flower was keen to look to the future, stating: “We are focussing on playing well in India. But I don’t envisage a problem. I think we can work very well in the future.”
Many fans are expected to book flights to Ahmedabad for the first Test, which begins on November 15th and could set the tone in the vital series.
