Tourists will have a chance to see the stars from India’s rivers.

India is fast becoming one for the first ports of call for people looking to enjoy the luxury holiday of a lifetime.

The country has so much variety that all types of tourism are on offer, including the traditional beach holiday in Goa, jungle treks, eco adventures and vibrant city breaks.

However, the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) now plans to introduce astrology tourism and it believes that a boat trip from Poothotta in Kochi to Piravom in Kottayam, Kerala will be the perfect way for visitors to see the stars in all their glory.

“Foreigners are interested in astrology. Many tourists who visit the state go to an astrologer to get an insight into their future and suggest solutions for a better tomorrow,” said TN Jayasankar, secretary of the DTPC.

The starting point in Kochi is perhaps best reached by taking a flight to Thiruvananthapuram airport and travelling along the coast.
