India offers something for everybody, according to tourism officials.
According to Anand Kumar, joint secretary of the tourism ministry, the Asian nation boasts great beaches, mountains and wildlife, as well as food, shopping experiences and temples.
“We have it all,” he insisted.
Mr Kumar was speaking at the launch of the latest phase of the Incredible India! campaign, an initiative designed to get more people booking flights to Delhi, Mumbai and other key destinations.
It is hoped the campaign will help to drive up the number of foreign visitors by 12 per cent per annum over the next four years.
The official noted that the first phase of Incredible India! helped to raise awareness of the products and destinations on offer in the country.
However, Mr Kumar said this latest stage will focus more heavily on “the customer and what they want”.
“We want to show them that India offers something for everyone,” he added.
