Officials in Maharashtra are keen to promote the beauty of the Nastik region of the state.
Mumbai and the surrounding Maharashtra state have a plentiful supply of great tourist attractions.
Visitors can explore the sights and sounds of the bustling city, including the heart of India’s Bollywood film industry as well as witnessing sacred places like the Baneshwar Temple, which nestles among tranquil jungle streams.
However, as the dynamic culture of India dictates, the state is keen to offer more and as a result is running a new competition to help find some of Maharashtra’s hidden treasures.
People have been asked to photograph places of extreme natural beauty or religious significance in the Nastik region of the state, which includes Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar.
“There are several beautiful locations in Nashik, but tourists do not reach these places due to lack of information. Places discovered through the contest will be included in a brochure,” an official told the Times of India.
