People on cheap flights to Egypt have been given a run-down of what to see in the bustling capital.

Visitors on cheap flights to Cairohave been told what to see on a quick visit to the city.Kate O’Grady told Daily Mail readers to be sure to see the famous Pyramids of Giza, which look their best at sunrise or sunset.

She also suggested visiting the ancient Al-Azhar mosque in Old Cairo and sampling street food and Arabic shisha pipes.

Fishawi’s cafe in the Khan el Khalili bazaar is also famous for never having closed for a day in two centuries.

Patrons can go there to enjoy a part of Cairo’s long-running coffee drinking tradition, which is older than Europe’s.

Khan el Khalili shoppers can also look for goods such as jewellery and blown glass.

Cairo is the capital city of Egypt and runs along both the banks of the Nile River.

The governorships of Cairo and Giza run on the east and west banks respectively, with the modern city’s centre on the east.
