Bangkok hotel price slashes could mean lots of choice for those taking holidays to Thailand

Some hotels in Bangkok could be about to lower room rates in a bid to drum up business, which could be great news for those taking cheap flights to Bangkok who wish to further cut down on the cost of a trip.At a conference aimed at discussing hotel room rates versus their value, chief executive officer of Dusit International and former president of the Thai Hotel Association Chanin Donavanik said that “lower rates are here to stay for a while”.

He also noted that next year, some 7,000 more hotel rooms would be added to Bangkok’s portfolio, giving those heading off on cheap flights to Bangkok more choice over where to stay during their holiday.

Hotels in the north of Thailand, in Chiang Mai, were highlighted as some of the ones struggling the most to fill up rooms – and so this could be the best area to head for some great deals on accommodation for a Thai break.

Meanwhile, luxury airline Emirates recently announced it is to begin flying from Bangkok to Madrid in Spain.
