Many of the most fashionable people in Melbourne were eager to visit the city’s first Topshop store.
People on flights to Melbourne who want to shop the latest fashions while away from home now have the chance to visit Topshop after it opened its first branch in the city.
The British fashion store and its male equivalent Topman are now both open on Chapel Street in the city, with many people waiting in line in order to be the first in the queue when the doors opened on December 8th 2011.
Such were the numbers waiting, the store opened ten minutes early and at the end of the day the store stated the most purchased items among women were sequined products, while chinos sold well in Topman.
Many more people may plan to visit over the weekend, as the store is set to hand out a voucher worth AU$100 (£65) to a lucky customer every hour.
A rise in passengers heading on flights to Melbourne could be seen in the future, as the airport has announced plans to build a new terminal.
