People who have taken cheap flights to Thailand are sure to find plenty of ways to rest and relax when they arrive, a Guardian writer has noted.
Holidaymakers who have taken a cheap flight to Thailand will find that there are plenty of ways to relax when they reach their destination, according to a writer.
Laura Barton noted in the Guardian that Thailand can be the perfect place to have a holiday with “minimal interaction” – particularly if travellers choose an island for their escape.
She said that the small island of Koh Kood is one of the best places to step away from the stresses of the real world.
Located around 200 miles east of Bangkok, the island – situated near the Cambodian border – is home to fewer than 2,000 residents.
Holidaymakers can choose from a number of options when it comes to accommodation, including luxury resorts, budget hotels and homestays – Ms Barton said that her favourite place to stay was in a private villa in Shantaa.
She wrote: “Afternoons would be spent swimming in the warm turquoise sea, sipping limeade at the beachside cafe, and taking an open-air Thai massage, all feet and breath and tiger balm, to the sound of birdsong and the steady hush of the waves.”
Thailand was recently honoured at the 2010 Travel Agents Choice Award for the category of Best Spa and Wellness.
