People looking to escape the chaos of modern life might be interested in a selection of holiday destinations where relaxation and calm are the name of the game.
Anyone who feels that they need to get away from it all and does not want to be surrounded by children on a holiday may want to consider booking flights to Thailand and checking into the Chiva-Som resort.
The Times highlighted the destination among a list of the top 50 child-free holidays around the world.
Chiva-Som is a resort exclusively for those over the age of 16 and to create an atmosphere of total peace and quiet, mobile phones and computers are also banned.
The spa bills itself as the “haven of life” and states that its ethos is about “learning to live, enjoy and appreciate every moment”.
Guests can spend their time indulging in a host of activities from yoga and t’ai chi to aqua aerobics and kickboxing classes.
In addition to its classes, the resort boasts an award-winning spa, which offers holistic therapies alongside traditional spa treatments as well as “spa cuisine”, which comprises organically grown fruit and vegetables from the resort’s own garden.
