South Africa ‘offers good value’

South Africa is among the best value destinations for British holidaymakers this summer, it has been claimed.

In what many football fans will consider good news, South Africa has  been named as one of the best value destinations for this summer.

The World Cup host nation was among the countries singled out by a travel expert.

Bob Atkinson of travelsupermarket.com commented that South Africa is one of the best holiday hotspots in terms of spending money for Brits.

He noted that, as a nation, British travellers are getting “better and better at sniffing out deals”.

“We’re quite savvy in terms of let’s only spend our money where we need to spend our money,” Mr Atkinson added.

This attitude contrasts to many of our European counterparts, he noted, where quality is viewed as more important than price.

According to new research released by travelsupermarket.com, 46 per cent of Brits consider themselves “savvy spenders” on their holidays.

The company also found that, on average, men are prepared to spend 26 per cent more on their breaks than women.
