Scheduled to take place between October 13th and 16th, the event is a celebration of the flightless birds that live in the region.

People who already have flights to Cape Town booked at this time may want to take a short break from their stay in the city to travel to the coastal area for the gathering, as it is located only 35 km away.

South Africa is noted for its abundant wildlife and holidaymakers planning a trip to the country may want to see what other creatures they can spot.

At the Kruger National Park, travellers may find they have a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the so-called “big five” animals, which are lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo and rhinoceroses.

Those who are particularly fearless may also want to take a trip out to see to try and spend some time in the water with a great white shark.
