Delhi is India’s most lavish and opulent city, it has been asserted.
Those who have booked cheap holidays to Delhi may find themselves among the country’s most well-to-do residents, it has been discovered.
According to the Nielsen Upper Middle and Rich (UMAR) survey, Delhi is India’s most affluent metropolis and is home to some of the richest Indians.
Conducted among 35 cities and 18,250 individuals, the paper used criteria such as lifestyle, possessions, consumer behaviour, level of income and quality of education in its evaluation.
It stated: “Nine in ten affluent individuals own a house, three-quarters have a fully automated washing machine and nearly two in five […] have a home theatre and modular kitchen.”
This news comes after Forbes.com named Mumbai as a location with the potential to become one of the world’s ‘capital cities’ in the future, due to its fast-moving economy and tourism sector.
