Mumbai has the potential to be a star player among the world’s most prominent cities in the future, it has been predicted.
Although it is already held in high regard by those who regularly enjoy cheap holidays to Mumbai, the city has been named as one of the world’s most promising.
A report compiled by Forbes.com has recognised the potential of Mumbai to develop into a formidable financial, economic and tourist area and has stated that it could well become one of the world’s ‘capital cities’.
These aspects are not Mumbai’s only strong points, as its Bollywood culture is also particularly lucrative and promising, the paper highlighted.
Other cities in India that have been earmarked by the report are Hyderabad and Bangalore, which, it states, have “leveraged software and business services into a seemingly unstoppable growth engine”.
Following a terrorism incident in the city last year, Barry Smith, co-founder and business director of Skyscanner, said that booking figures showed Brits “are not being deterred from visiting Mumbai or India in general”.
