Although Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt is popular with winter sun-seekers, it is a top choice throughout the year, according to an industry expert.
People booking flights to Egypt may be intending to visit the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh as the destination has grown in popularity among travellers seeking some winter sun, a travel expert commented.
Kayte Williams from travelsupermarket.com explained that travellers were focusing their attention on affordable destinations for a winter break.
She added that some of the deals to Sharm el Sheikh made it a popular choice among tourists looking to escape the cold British weather.
“Pricing’s good and Sharm [el Sheikh] has been tipped to be very prominent all of next year,” the holidays channel manager said.
Ms Williams commented on the resort’s appeal: “It’s where they are going to get the weather this time of year and it’s where the deals are at the moment.”
Research published yesterday (November 24th) by Co-operative Travel revealed that bookings to Egypt were up by 19 per cent this year compared with 2008.
