The inclusion of Dubai in the new Mission Impossible film could have a positive impact on tourism in the region.

There could be more people looking to take flights to Dubai soon as the emirate is set to feature in the new Mission Impossible film.

Images released from the movie, entitled Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, show Tom Cruise dangling 124 floors above ground from the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa tower.

Footage from the film also shows a 360 degree panoramic view across Dubai from the viewing platform of the world’s tallest building.

“This movie will expose Dubai to a young audience and highlights a fun and adventurous aspect to the Emirate that we expect will appeal to tourists,” Julie King, Dubai Tourism’s Australian director, told news.com.au.

She added that the footage showcases the amazing architecture of the building and those which surround it.

Some people could also be attracted to take flights to Dubai to see some of the fantastic events which are planned in the city every year, which recently helped it to win the title of 2011 World Festival and Event City for the Middle East.
