Cathay Pacific will be offering new India bound flights with Kolkata and Hyderabad finding a place in the airline’s network. Four services a week to each destination will be offered for tickets seekers.
Travellers looking for flights ticket between India and Hong Kong will soon have added options as Cathay Pacific has decided to add to its 11 weekly flights to the country.
Hong Kong’s flag carrier will now be offering tickets on flights to Kolkata and Hyderabad. Four flights a week each to both regional hubs of India will be operated by the airline. While services on Hyderabad-Hong Kong route will be operational from December 1, 2012, Kolkata operations will begin from November 3rd this year. Some news reports reveal that Kolkata flights will be handled by Dragon Air, Cathay Pacific’s subsidiary.
Also, those seeking air tickets to Chennai with the airline will have augmented options as the four times a week service to the southern city will be upgraded to once daily, offering more options to cheap tickets buyers.
“Indian aviation market is under-served when referring to comparable countries like China. India has a huge potential and that’s why we are adding flights here,” Tom Wright, Cathay’s GM (South Asia) was quoted in TOI, India’s leading English daily.
These new services will complement the carrier’s daily services to Bangalore, 10 a week to Mumbai and twice daily to Delhi.
Recently, the airline also made an announcement of introducing award-winning Business Class and Premium Economy Class cabins for travellers seeking air tickets on select few India-Hong Kong routes.
India has a growing aviation industry with foreign airlines getting attracted to the country as it offers them better business prospects.
